The DelGuard protects the lead from breaking under any angle and strong pressure during writing. When strong vertical pressure is applied to the paper, a spring built into the pencil allows the lead to move upward, preventing it from breaking. When strong diagonal pressure is applied, a metal component at the tip automatically comes out to wrap and guard the lead. These two mechanisms automatically adjust and work together according to the angle and strength of the applied force.
